Great for French fries

We have used it over the past month several times. Does french fries really well and can be used for slicing. Great for someone with a low budget.

It works great!

This slices evenly every time and I was happily surprised to see the thickness/ julienne dial on the side. The handle doesn’t grip the food as much as I thought it would but overall satisfied!

Quick

Great kitchen aid. Easy to clean. Only con is that it may leave the last piece of potatoe undone. No Biggs.

Great fries, not yam fries

The julienne function works great with potatoes, but it couldn't handle yams. This is pretty common for mandolines, especially those have a straight angle versus a V shape blade, so it's hard to hold it against this mandoline, but good for potential customers to know. I did find that the guard was a little uncomfortable for my hand. Be prepared to hand cut the part of the veg closest to the guard, but this still saves time over exclusive hand cutting.
